Näringslivets Producentansvar would not be who we are, but for those we cooperate with: The municipalities who are responsible for the collection of packaging from households, the contractors who transport and work with our share of the collected material at the collection facilities, the recycling facilities we cooperate with and other partners.
Sweden's municipalities
The municipalities collect household packaging
Since January 1st, 2024, it is Sweden’s municipalities that collect packaging waste from households and co-located businesses. The municipality must also ensure that there are easily accessible places for the collection of bulky packaging, as well as collect packaging material in parks and squares from 1 January 2026.
Contractors
Collection, transport, handling and coarse sorting
Our business depends on contractors who help us transport and process packaging at the collection facilities, after the municipalities have collected them.

In collaboration with our selected suppliers for sorting and recycling, we strive for transparency and full traceability of our customers’ packaging. High-quality material recycling is a priority for both us and our customers. It is a key part of our efforts to reduce climate impact. Together, we are driving the development towards circular and traceable material recycling.
